Plagiarism Policy
International Journal of Physical Education, Sports and Holistic Development (IJPESHD)

At the International Journal of Physical Education, Sports and Holistic Development (IJPESHD), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in research. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. This policy outlines our procedures for detecting, managing, and preventing plagiarism throughout the submission and publication process.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when authors present others’ work—whether ideas, words, data, or visuals—as their own without appropriate citation. The following practices are considered plagiarism:

  1. Copying text, figures, tables, graphs, or images from other sources without proper attribution.
  2. Reproducing sections of another person’s research or findings without acknowledgment.
  3. Self-plagiarism, which involves reusing substantial parts of one's own previously published work without proper citation or justification.

Plagiarism Detection
All submitted manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection software before they are sent for peer review. Manuscripts are assessed based on their similarity index and checked for any improper use of previously published material, ensuring originality in the domains of physical education, sports science, and holistic health.

Handling Plagiarism
Based on the level of plagiarism detected, the following actions will be taken:

  1. Less than 5% Plagiarism: The manuscript will be assigned an ID and sent back to the author for minor corrections and resubmission.

  2. 5% to 15% Plagiarism: The manuscript will not be assigned an ID. Authors will be notified and asked to revise the plagiarized content accordingly before resubmission.

  3. More than 15% Plagiarism: The manuscript will be returned without peer review. Authors must undertake substantial revisions and resubmit the article as a new submission.

Rejection Due to High Plagiarism (>30%)
If plagiarism exceeds 30%, the manuscript will be automatically rejected. Authors will be informed of the decision and are required to make extensive changes if they wish to resubmit the manuscript for future consideration. Repeated offenses may result in blacklisting from future submissions.

Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, IJPESHD will take the following actions based on the severity:

  1. Conduct a formal investigation.
  2. Notify the author's affiliated institution and any funding bodies.
  3. Place a watermark or disclaimer on each page of the published article.
  4. Issue a formal retraction notice if necessary.

Author Responsibility
By submitting a manuscript to IJPESHD, authors confirm that their work is original, properly cited, and has not been published elsewhere. Authors must:

  1. Understand and respect the distinctions between quotation, paraphrasing, and citation.
  2. Avoid any form of textual or conceptual misappropriation.
  3. Take full responsibility for any instances of plagiarism—intentional or accidental.

Self-Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism is strictly monitored. Authors must properly cite previous publications if any part of their earlier work is reused. Failure to acknowledge such reuse is considered unethical and will be handled as a plagiarism offense.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing
The International Journal of Physical Education, Sports and Holistic Development is dedicated to maintaining academic rigor and ethical publishing standards. All authors must uphold these principles by ensuring the originality of their submissions and by accurately acknowledging all sources and contributions.

The editorial board reserves the right to request clarifications, supporting documents, or citations in cases where plagiarism or overlap is suspected.
